the art of theory is a journal of political ideas from any scholar, in any field, of any methodology or tradition.
the art of theory considers each submission carefully and selects for originality and scholarly contribution. Since we publish only one essay or interview per month, space is extremely limited and acceptance is competitive.
Our essays are noted for their place at the leading edge of political thought and their clear, provocative thesis. Essays should be 2,500 words or fewer. Footnotes may be used sparingly for citation purposes only, and we encourage simple parenthetical citations when possible. Footnotes will be made available only in a downloadable PDF version of each published essay.
We will notify you of acceptance, rejection, or revision/resubmission within approximately one month.
